Kuwaiti security officials foiled a major drug smuggling attempt at an agricultural farm in Al-Ofra. 2 Kuwaitis and 2 Sri Lankans involved in smuggling have been arrested.

According to the Kuwaiti news agency Kona, the Ministry of Interior says that Interior Minister Sheikh Talal Al-Khalid and senior officials of the ministry supervised the operation that foiled the incident. About one and a half million narcotic pills, more than half a ton of narcotic powder and special machines for producing narcotic pills were seized from the possession of the smugglers.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior says that compared to the past, efforts are being made to destroy Kuwait through narcotics these days. The drug smuggling operation was the largest in Kuwait's history.

The Media Center under the Ministry of Interior says that security agencies under the Ministry of Interior have foiled several efforts to combat narcotics.
