The body of a 38-year-old woman in Surrey, United Kingdom, was found three years after her death in her flat, her condition was like a mummy.
The family of Laura Winham have alleged that she was left to die by Britain's National Health Service.
Lara Wenham is believed to have died in November 2017, while her brother found her dead in May 2021.
Lara Winham, a schizophrenic, had become estranged from her family and was living in social housing in Woking, Surrey.
The BBC contacted the National Health Service for their position but did not receive a response.
Her family has claimed that in 2014, her doctor and Working Community Mental Health Recovery were informed that Lara Wenham was not in good mental health, but according to them, Lara Wenham was not given medical help.
Lara Wenham is believed to have been last seen alive in October 2017. At the time, Surrey Police officers informed Surrey County Council that Laura Winham was acting recklessly.
They said Lara Winham was 'malnourished and appeared to be unaware of the need for help from local services'.
After this meeting with the police officers, no text was entered on Laura Wenham's calendar. The last text written on the calendar reads 'I need help.'
Lara's sister Nicky says, "Because of her schizophrenia, she felt like her family wanted to harm her and because of that, the family lost contact with her."
However, Nikki says that those around Lara ignored her despite all the signs of her mental state.
"It breaks my heart to think how he must have spent his last few years when it would have been impossible for him to even ask for help in the absence of anyone around him," he said.
The family's lawyer Iftikhar Manzoor says that the social care team was informed twice about Lara. First in 2014 and then in 2017 by the police.
He said that their needs were not evaluated at all.
"A Painful Case"
Surrey Police say that on May 24, 2021, they went to Lara's address and found the body of a woman.
According to the police officers, they did not find any clue in the investigation that Lara was killed.
According to a police spokesman, before May 2021, police officers had carried out a round of the flat in October 2017 and social care was alerted at that time.
On the other hand, a spokesman for Surrey County Council says, "This is a painful and complex case that should be examined from all angles."
He said that we are ready for all possible cooperation in the investigation.
